We want The Magic of Christmas to be as welcoming and enjoyable as possible, but some elements of the experience require steps.

Accessing Middleton Hall

As Middleton Hall is a historic building with over 900 years of history, some areas naturally include uneven surfaces, steps, and traditional layouts.

Father Christmas will be located up a flight of steps. If you have access issues, please do get in touch and we can tailor your experience to suit your circumstances.

We do have a buggy park, but these cannot be taken into the Grotto, so baby carriers are advised.

Is The Magic of Christmas step free?

Some elements of The Magic of Christmas take place on the ground floor, but the Father Christmas Grotto and Jingle Bear workshop are located upstairs.

We have a buggy park area.

If you cannot climb stairs, please speak to us in advance and we will tailor our experience around your needs.

Surfaces & Terrain

As with many heritage sites, some areas include:

Uneven pathways
Gravel or grass surfaces
Wooden walkways which may be slippery in wet weather

We recommend wearing appropriate footwear and taking extra care, particularly in winter conditions.

Facilities

Accessible toilets are available on the ground floor
Baby changing facilities are available
Blue badge parking is available on site
Seating and rest points are located throughout the experience
Wheelchair loan is available (pre-booking recommended)
